We host KAPPO seminar for Spanish people

Hello everyone,

I am Soichiro Funo, an interpreter and staff member at acupuncture clinic KAPOS

From January 19 to 22, Kapos hosted a Kappo seminar. This time, it was an international seminar specifically for Spanish participants!

KAPOS have held seminars in Spain a total of seven times, but this was our first time hosting an international seminar in Japan.

However, once the seminar started, everyone quickly warmed up-perhaps due to the Spanish national character or the easygoing nature of people who attend these kinds of seminars.

After the fourth day ended and everyone had left, we started cleaning up the seminar venue and restoring it to its original state. Before we knew it, the two of us kept saying, “it feels a bit lonely, doesn’t it?”

It wasn’t a negative or gloomy kind of loneliness, but more like a feeling of having a small hole in our hearts. It’s hard to put into words, but that’s the best way I can describe it.

One thing I can say for sure is that, because of the language barrier, physical contact naturally played a bigger role in communication compared to when teaching Japanese participants. This, in turn, may have led to a different kind of learning experience Perhaps not just about the body, but also about interaction on a deeper level.

Incidentally, I touched on this topic in a Twitter Space right after the seminar, while still feeling the excitement of the final day. (In the Space, I jokingly referred to it as Mucho KARADA!(because of the lot of body interaction!)

I also briefly talked about the appeal of Kappo during the Space, and for those interested, there’s a webpage introducing Kappo in more detail:

Kappo Introduction

Due to various circumstances, this will be the last KAPPO seminar we hold this year. If you are interested, I encourage you to take this opportunity while it is still available!
