Q&A
Are acupuncture needles painful?
We use hair-thin acupuncture needles.
These needles are very different from hypodermic needles which physicians use.
Many people don’t even notice when they are inserted. But you may experience a brief moment of discomfort as the needle penetrates the skin. That can be followed by a mild sensation of cramping, tingling, numbness, traveling warmth, or heaviness. But they are positive reactions of your body. No need to worry about it.
